BOULDER, COLO. – (October 23, 2014) Community solar developer Clean Energy Collective (CEC) announced today the release of its new Referral Rewards program that pays cash to customers and solar advocates who refer prospective community solar customers. With more than 75% of Colorado ratepayers within a CEC community solar facility service territory, there is broad opportunity to cash in.

Crafted with an emphasis on simplicity and strong value, CEC’s Referral Rewards program pays $20.00 cash for every qualified referral and also $25.00 for every solar panel a referred customer purchases in a CEC community solar array. For instance, an average purchase of 3 kW, about 12 panels, would generate a $320 referral reward.

“Referral Rewards is a generous solar incentive program because CEC’s community solar solution provides cost effective renewable energy to 100% of the market, versus rooftop solar programs which have a limited audience,” said Susanne Riis, CEC’s programs manager. “We anticipate many people earning substantial rewards with this program, but they’ll also receive the gratification knowing they’ve provided an opportunity for their friends, family, and coworkers to save thousands of dollars on their electric bills using clean energy.”

To qualify for a reward, referred persons must be a customer or member of a CEC partner utility, they must receive a proposal from Clean Energy Collective, and have a solar consultation with a CEC Solar Specialist. To register a referral in Colorado visit http://easycleanenergy.com/referral.

Pioneered by CEC, the community solar model employs economies of scale to build optimally-sited, fully maintained solar PV arrays, or gardens, designed for maximum power production and maximum lifespan, delivering the lowest possible price for renewable energy. Consumers get the benefits of solar ownership, yet bypass the research, construction, and ongoing maintenance and repair required of a stand-alone system. It also provides customers with the flexibility of having the energy credits move with them within their utility territory, and the ability to sell their panels at any time.

CEC has 14 community solar facilities operating in Colorado serving customers from Fort Collins to Colorado Springs along the Front Range, and throughout the Western Slope.
