Paul Spencer
President and Founder
In addition to inventing the CEC’s community solar concept, Mr. Spencer leads the company’s ongoing vision and execution. He is a serial entrepreneur, having built 10 companies in the last 22 years within various industries including energy, software, systems engineering, medical, brokerage and real estate development. He has also held employment positions for Qwest as the Director of Business Development for a 14 state southeast region and a VP of Sales for First Consulting Group (now CSC). Mr. Spencer has received a patent for past designs and hundreds of copyrights. He lives off the grid in a self-sustaining home with his wife, has a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and is the president of the board of Tom's Door [link], a local non-profit. He enjoys the outdoors, skiing and playing basketball.

Mark Boyer
Chief Financial Officer
Mark Boyer oversees all the day to day operations, and financial aspects of the Clean Energy Collective.  He has worked in companies of all stages from start-ups to billion dollar enterprises.  Prior to his tenure with the CEC, he was founder and president of The Willits Group, a full service real estate company providing funding, development services in Idaho, Colorado, and Utah.  Mark was a development manager and partner for Val Quest Construction and GrayMac Properties in Boston where he completed several financially successful urban infill and adaptive reuse real estate projects. As project manager for Flatiron Structures, Mark worked on the largest civil construction project ever completed in the US (Central Artery Tunnel Project), managing over $300MM in direct work.  His interest in the energy business began while working to purchase several micro-hydro plants for The Willits Group portfolio.  Through this process, Mark began sharing ideas with his life-long friend, Paul Spencer, and moved back to his home state of Colorado to join him in building the Clean Energy Collective, knowing it was too great of an opportunity for him, his family and a country searching for ways to achieve an environmentally and financially viable energy plan to pass up. Mark received his BS in Civil Engineering from Colorado State University and his Master of Science in Development and Finance from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).  Mark lives in Colorado with his wife and three daughters and enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, fly fishing, skiing, hiking and trail running.

Tom Sweeney
Chief Operating Officer
Tom Sweeney brings a wealth of experience to CEC in the development and management of high growth businesses with ground breaking products and services. Most recently, Tom was the founder, Chairman and CEO of Incentra Solutions, a $200 million IT Systems Integrator for mid-tier enterprise clients in the US and Western Europe. Prior to Incentra, Tom lead a series of IT services and software companies in the US, Europe and Asia/Pac. Sweeney started his career in the Telecommunications industry and worked as a senior executive at Level 3, Worldcom, MFS, Centex and MCI. Outside of work Tom enjoys golf, blue water sailing and spending time with his wife and two sons.

Walter Borden
Vice President Business Development
Walter Borden currently serves as Vice President Business Development for the southeastern region of the US for CEC. He has extensive experience in the solar industry, serving as Chief Executive Officer for ICE Solar Private Limited in Hyderabad, India, and as Managing Director Asia Pacific for American Capital Energy, Inc. Mr. Borden’s previous experience includes: Chief Executive Officer for Data Products Corporation, Executive Vice President for Exploria, Inc., and Vice President, Sales & Marketing for SourceOne Worldwide, Inc., a Harry Gray company. Mr. Borden holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Liverpool, England. He currently lives in Florida and where he enjoys cycling, music and outdoor activities with his fiancé.

Jim Hartman
Vice President of Strategic Development
Jim Hartman received his architectural degree from the University of Virginia in 1980. Mr. Hartman worked for 16 years as the Historic Projects Director and a Senior Associate at the internationally acclaimed architectural firm of Fentress Bradburn Architects. In 1996, Mr. Hartman joined the National Properties Group as their Vice President of Design and Construction and was in charge of several multi-million real estate developments. In 2000, Mr. Hartman began Hartman Ely Investments (HEI), a firm that is passionate about sustainable communities, energy efficient development and renewable energy. Over 11 years, HEI has created several award-winning, energy efficient real estate developments. The most notable of those are the LEED Platinum headquarters office building for Total Longterm Care, as well as the Hangar 2 Redevelopment, both at the Lowry Community in Denver, Colorado. HEI was also the Development Manager for the 1 megawatt solar farm at the Boulder Wastewater Treatment Facility. Jim joined the Clean Energy Collective in 2011 to help bring clean solar power and energy efficiency programs to communities across the United States and overseas.

Genevieve Liang
Vice President Business Development
Genevieve Liang is CEC’s Vice President of Business Development for the western US. Previously, she was a member of the management team for Sharp Corporation’s Solar Energy Solutions Group, where she structured and executed utility-scale, solar PV projects and module sales for the Americas. Her past professional experience spans strategic consulting, journalism, visual media, and law. She is actively involved in nonprofit leadership as a board director for Girls in Tech LA, and is a solar team lead for Grid Alternatives as well as a pro bono consultant for the Bankers Without Borders unit of the Grameen Foundation. Genevieve graduated with a dual BS in Geology and BA in Geography from UCLA, and holds an MBA from USC’s Marshall School of Business. She is an ardent believer in using the power of technology to catalyze positive social change, and is dedicated to high-impact missions in clean technology and sustainable development. She currently resides in California, and enjoys mountaineering, snow sports and globetrotting.

Bart Rupert
Vice President Business Development
Bart Rupert is responsible for growing CEC’s renewable energy portfolio through strategic partnerships, business development initiatives, and alliances with utility companies. Mr. Rupert has a solid track record of creating growth, realizing transformative change, forming successful relationships with Fortune 500 companies, and building customer loyalty. His goal is to embrace changes in the energy sector by partnering with utility companies to bring renewable energy to the masses in an easy, affordable, and accessible way.

Most recently, Bart served as the COO of Plexis Healthcare Systems where he was responsible for the growth and success of the company. Plexis experienced year over year revenue growth of many magnitudes during his tenure as the company was transformed into an industry leader. Plexis forged strategic alliances with large companies such as Accenture, CSC, Cognizant, Noridian, WNS, etc. and became one of Microsoft’s Health & Human Services Strategic Alliance partners. Prior to Plexis, he served as the COO of Crib Notes Software, a niche EMR company, cultivating the organization into an internationally-recognized market leader. Bart also worked with large industry players including HBOC, McKesson, and FCG in various leadership roles across more than a dozen highly visible projects.

Ron Wedeking
Vice President Business Development
Ron Wedeking brings over 30 years of business development experience to CEC with companies such as NCH Corporation, Akzo Nobel and Veolia Water as well as smaller start-up companies in construction and energy. Since 2009 Ron has worked in the solar energy sector and has specialized in distributed generation for commercial, industrial and utility scale customers in Oregon, California and the Northeast. To date, Ron and his teams have been responsible for over 30 MW of PV solar installations including a 4.26 MW project in Edison, NJ which was the largest rooftop solar installation in the US when it was constructed. A graduate of Northwest University in Kirkland, Washington with a BA in Literature and Greek, Ron resides in the Greater New York City area and enjoys living where history was and is still made. A fan of the arts and music, Ron also enjoys tennis, cooking and home remodeling.

Penny Armstrong
Office Manager
Originally from Southern California, Penny recently relocated to Colorado and brings years of Administrative Management experience to Clean Energy Collective. Most recently, Penny was the Executive Assistant and Office Manager for the HP Solutions Group of Avnet Technology Solutions in Phoenix, Arizona. Prior to Avnet, she served as the Contracts and Office Manager for OneSource Technology Solutions, Inc. in Scottsdale, Arizona. Penny enjoys cooking, is an artist utilizing water colors and oil paints, loves the outdoors and gardening.

Don Munroe
Senior Vice President Information Technology
Don realized he had a love for computers when he saved his money and bought his first computer at 13. He took a brief hiatus from the programming world to serve his country as a United States Marine. After leaving the Corps to raise a family, he began his long time career in information technology in 1993 as a Junior Programmer, which led to an interest in Software Development. In June 2009, Don joined CEC as a contractor to begin development of the RemoteMeter® product. In January of 2012, he accepted an offer to join the company full time as the Senior VP of Information Technology.

Jim Finlon
Senior .Net Developer
Jim Finlon has been involved with computers, networking and the internet since leaving the military to become a network support engineer for Grumman at Lockheed in Austin in the early 90’s. While supporting the software development and design teams at Lockheed he became involved with the internet as it moved into public use and with web development in it’s very infancy. Jim has spent the last 20 years following the technology, consulting on IT and software projects, and developing a variety of applications based on internet and data technologies. Jim recently relocated to Boulder from Florida, to enjoy the mountains, and to participate in the thriving innovative culture of the area. In his spare time Jim enjoys hiking, wildlife photography and spending time with his 2 teenage children. Jim joined CEC in February 2013.

David Wiedinmyer
Director – Business Development
Originally from Pennsylvania, David Wiedinmyer graduated with a degree in finance from the University of Delaware. Upon graduation, he joined the Equity Capital Markets division at Raymond James Financial in Florida. As a Syndicate Associate, David coordinated the firm’s participation in and distribution of numerous public equity and managed fund offerings, while also directing the division’s targeted trading initiative. In 2005, David moved to Colorado, where he became the Executive Director at Aspen Youth Experience, a non-profit organization providing experiential programming and therapeutic services for at-risk youth from across the country. David joined the Clean Energy Collective team in June, 2010 to lead the CEC’s sales and marketing efforts.  He enjoys skiing, cycling, and fly fishing in the mountains of Colorado.

Matt Davies
Senior Project Manager
Matt joined the CEC in 2013, and has been in the U.S. for five years, having relocated from the U.K. where he was Senior Project Manager with a number of Construction Consultancy companies in London. With a BS in Construction Project Management and Masters in Historic Conservation, Matt has a wealth of experience across a range of construction sectors. Heading up the Delivery Team at CEC, Matt is responsible for overseeing the land acquisition process, negotiating with Utilities, and organizing the construction of CEC's solar array projects. In his free time, Matt enjoys competitive running and cycling, as well as spending time with his wife and newborn baby boy.

Richard Miller, AICP
Land Manager
Richard oversees all land related operations for the Clean Energy Collective. His duties include leasing and entitlement for the various sites for the community solar gardens built by the Clean Energy Collective. Richard has extensive experience in both the public and private sectors, having served as Planning Director for two Colorado counties and as President of Land Concepts, Inc., a land planning and development firm. Richard is a member of the American Planning Association and the American Institute of Certified Planners. Richard has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Architecture from Texas A&M University and a Master of Science Degree in Community & Regional Planning from the University of Texas at Austin. He enjoys backpacking and flyfishing.

Chad Roach
Project Manager
With a 10+ year track record of success in all aspects of project development, project management, and on-site construction management, Chad Roach has built a deep understanding of what it takes to manage projects from land acquisition through full construction and bring projects to closure. His superior ability to manage multiple projects with tenacity and persistence gives confidence to our project development business. Chad received his BA in Business Marketing Communications from State University of New York at Plattsburgh in 1998. He enjoys everything outdoors and chasing his two year old around.

Todd Davidson
Director of Marketing
As the Director of Marketing, Todd’s job is to build awareness and help educate the market on CEC’s revolutionary renewable energy solution (It’s easy, clean and affordable!). Backed by over 20 years experience both on the client and agency side, Todd has marketed everything from health food to high-tech, working to develop cost effective solutions that help drive sales. During that time he has managed the national launch of consumer packaged goods as the Director of Marketing and Sales for Natural Balance, supported D.R. Horton’s realtor outreach program and digital user interface, supervised the international communications efforts for A.E. Petsche Co. (An Arrow Company), and managed hundreds of field marketing activities under his own company, EventSmiths. Todd graduated from the University of Denver with a BSBA in Marketing, and returned 10 years later to earn a Masters in Business Administration from the Daniels College of Business. A former alpine racer for Burton Snowboards, Todd is still passionate about the mountains where he enjoys time with his family camping, boarding and the occasional endurance mountain bike race.

Erika Liechti
Marketing Associate
Erika was born and raised on the west coast of Canada between Vancouver and Whistler. She moved to the United States to go to university on a full-ride soccer scholarship while earning her degree in media. A few years ago, she moved to Denver and felt at home with Colorado's gorgeous mountains and countless outdoor activities. With her background in academic medicine, Erika uses her skills and education to help bring awareness to our clean energy solution.

Tian Tower
Creative Associate
Tian joined the CEC team in 2013. A Michigan native, she graduated from Kendall College of Art and Design of Ferris State University, with a BFA in Graphic Design. Tian has worked several years as a Multi-Media Designer for Jeppesen, a Boeing company, Graphic Designer for Colorado Mountain News Media, and Package Designer for Sofia's Cookies. A fan of all things art and design, Tian enjoys new exhibits at the DAM and MCA.

Susan Sheehan
Sales Manager
Susan grew up in South Florida and moved to Colorado to attend Colorado State University. Susan brings over 20 years of experience in sales, building and managing sales teams and channel partner programs, primarily in the software industry. Susan is very excited to be a part of the Clean Energy Collective team and is looking forward to great things to come. In her free time, she spends as much time as she can with her horses, and there's nothing Susan enjoys more, or as much as, watching her oldest granddaughter play D1 college soccer; and sharing and enjoying the beautiful Colorado Mountains with her family.

Amy Thompson
Director of Commercial Sales
Amy Thompson brings to CEC a background in commercial sales driving multi-million dollar companies to exponential growth in competitive markets. Amy’s experience with clients including the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate, municipalities, and major architectural firms, combined with her start-up success in construction, provide the ingredients to maximize opportunities at CEC. Amy lives in Boulder and enjoys fly-fishing, snowboarding and spending time with her family on hikes and adventure travel excursions.

Gregory Lee
Inside Sales, Solar Specialist
Gregory Lee is a native of Colorado, and was born in Denver. He has attended Metropolitan State, Denver, DeVry University, Colorado Campus, and Colorado Mountain College, Glenwood Springs. Greg has been involved professionally with Sales and Customer Service for 25+ years! Most of his experience has been with Telecom and Technology based products with emphasis on Business to Customer and Business to Business sales processes. Sales experience with mostly fortune 500 Companies including AT&T/Lucent, MCI and Dish Network. “As a Sales Professional, I am dedicated to insuring that your experience with the Clean Energy Collective will be the Best!” Greg is interested in renewable energy and delivery method, and he enjoys fishing and the company of his family. Greg has been around the United States, but calls Colorado home.

Erin Aldonis
Inside Sales, Solar Specialist
Erin comes to us from Boston, Massachusetts and brings over 10 years of sales experience, primarily in the specialty foods and special events industries. She moved to Colorado with her husband in January 2013 after falling in love with the mountains, the people and the emphasis on clean, healthy living during a 7-month cross-country trip last year. In her free time she enjoys hiking, camping, skiing and exploring her new home state.

Kristin Kuhlman
Field Sales, Solar Specialist
Kristin grew up in Marin County, CA in the 70s where her family partially offset their energy usage with solar energy. Now, as a Solar Specialist for CEC, Kristin divides her time representing and selling memberships to the country’s largest community owned solar array located in the Paradox Valley, CO and educating local and other regions about the CEC’s community solar concept. Additionally, Kristin spends time writing and has had two books published and is currently working on a third. Kristin has a BA in Philosophy from the University of California at Berkeley, an MA in Systems Therapy from the College of Notre Dame and an MBA from UCLA. She lives with her two children and enjoys snowboarding, telemarking, hockey, hiking, and yoga.

Laura Hutchins
Sales Operations Specialist
After growing up in Austin, TX, Laura Hutchins moved to Boulder, CO and has now called it home for over 16 years. She received her BA from the University of Colorado in 2003 and spent the next 8 years in real estate managing over 300 commercial and residential properties throughout greater Boulder. Most recently Laura managed the sales of a new, green-built residential community in North Boulder but chose to switch her career path with the culmination of that project. She’s happy to now call CEC “home” as working with this great team promoting accessible renewable energy is inspirational each day. In her free time Laura enjoys hiking, travel, reading and time with loved ones.

Amy Nupen
Controller
Amy grew up in western North Dakota , went to school at North Dakota State University and graduated with a Business Administration degree in 2003. She lived in Florida for five years while working for Serta Mattress and Bright House Networks where she grew to love working in Accounting and Finance. In 2008, she moved to Colorado to be closer to family and enjoy the beautiful outdoors. She enjoys hiking, camping, skiing, and spending time with family. Amy joined CEC in November 2012.

Michael Agcaoili
Financial Analyst
Michael Agcaoili joined Clean Energy Collective in February 2013 and responsible for the financial analysis and reporting. Originally from Chicago, he graduated with a degree in economics from the University of Colorado – Boulder in 2004. Upon graduation, he joined the Global Currency and Commodity Group as at JP Morgan Chase in New York City. In 2006, he relocated back to Colorado working as a Logistics Financial Manager at Sports Authority and most recently as a Senior Financial Analyst at Xcel Energy. He enjoys camping, hiking 14ers, skiing, cycling, fly fishing, volleyball and spending time with family/friends.
